Very quiet in the restaurant which surprised us this close to Christmas. The food was delicious and the staff could not have been nicer. We didn't mention we were there for a birthday but they must have overheard us toasting and brought out a dessert singing happy birthday at the end! Would highly recommend and they deserve to be busier.

Absolutely dreadful. The Thai green curries were watery and tasteless. We ordered two different chicken dishes - we couldn’t tell which was which as they both had the same thin brown watery sauce. All really bland and very expensive.

I eat alot of Thai food, this may have been my least favourite. I still enjoyed my curry (duck red) and the rice was nice, it was just quite watery and mild. My friend got a veggie stir fry and it wasn't good. She didn't want to get the vegetable pad thai as it wasn't clear on the menu if it was veggie or not. They did give us the food (as a take away) when they were closing soon (1 hour earlier than the 10pm close listed online) which I appreciated and the staff were friendly. Overall this was okay and if you really want thai food it's not too bad.

The most watery and flavourless curry’s. Ordered a panang curry and it was not like normal panang curry’s are - was watery and lacked flavour. I called to let them know and they said this is how they always do their curry’s. Not great and won’t be ordering again!

One of the worst takeaways Ive ever ordered. The Beef and Chicken “curries” (if It could even be considered that) we ordered were literally just a waterey soup.
Unflavorful, and the cuts of beef were weird brisket cuts and not the stirfry kind you would expect. The peanuts were just whole and had no good roasted flavor. The chicken curry was equally watery, and the chicken tasted pre-cooked and crumbly and dry despite being soaked in the flavorless “curry” soup…
God awful Thai. Maybe the noodle based meals could’ve been better, but Im too scared to try anything else from there now

Have had multiple takeaways from here now and have never been disappointed. Absolutely delicious Thai food. Our favourite dishes have been the Panang Nue & the Pad Thai Goong. We also get the Gai Satay a lot - all very, very tasty. The staff are always so welcoming and friendly when I pop in to collect, which I really appreciate - makes you feel like a valued customer. Would highly recommend Bangkok Thai Restaurant to any Saffron Walden locals.

To be clear this review is based on my experience of trying to get a Gluten Free meal for my wife. We understand this is not always easy but we put are heads in and explained the situation and was given the impression there was plenty of options. There was no separate menu but again the we were told to choose and it could mostly be adapted. When they took the order it became apparent that very little could be adapted and my wife's dinner was a very bland chicken and rice meal. She would not come back for this food.
For balance, I had a Pad Thai and it was lovely. There was one other group in there and the overall atmosphere was subdued.

Dine in once, food was good. Ordered a takeaway, whole order was absolutely cooked with low quality produce, no flavour and chicken must have been added from frozen, rock hard no flavour at all. Rice overcooked. Soup had rock hard pieces of ginger not edible should have been strained off. From starters to mains, very disappointing!

Really lovely restaurant, great effort has gone into the decorations and making it look authentic. Food is brilliant and really affordable and the staff are so kind. I will be recommending this place to people I know.

Worst take away I think I’ve ever had. We usually love Thai food but this was awful. We ordered 2 different noodle dishes and they tasted the same - no flavouring, bland and very much like it had been reheated from previous days. My duck was dry, very over cooked, and the vegetables it was served with were so over cooked they were black, crispy and bitter. Very expensive too. We will not be returning - disgusting food.

Love what they've done with the venue. The decorations are clearly Asian inspired and warm themed. Food and service were very good too at a good price point. Highly recommended

Lovely food & very friendly. One of my favourite places in Saffron Walden. We liked the deep fried duck, panang gai (sorry if spelt wrong), egg fried noodles and sweet and sour pork.

Updated: still, the Bangkok Thai remains one of the warmest and friendliest restaurants in Saffron Walden. Delicious, authentic Thai food, for all tastes, served promptly and with genuine style. One of the great survivors in town.
